Our Electronics Manufacturing Client based in Fareham are recruiting a new Senior Engineer on a permanent basis reporting to the Engineering Manager. To be suitable for this role you must come from an electronics / PCB / subcontract manufacturing background.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Senior Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager and assists with providing leadership and expert knowledge to the engineering team. They are responsible for providing manufacturing documentation and engineering support to ensure the day to day manufacturing build requirements are met.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Degree level qualification in electronics or demonstratable experience and knowledge of electronic principles is essential.

• Experience of electronic manufacturing is essential.

• Knowledge of project planning is important.

• Understanding of configuration control is important.

Key Responsibilities

• Liaise with the Operations Manager, Production & MPS, to assist with prioritising work requiring Production Build Packs (creating new documentation as required)

• Communicate any problems of an internal nature to the Engineering Manager and to communicate with Customers on problems or process issues.

• Configuration control of all supplied documents & engineering packs

• To ensure products manufactured conform to customer approval requirements.

• Inputting Bills of Materials and signing off Bills of Materials inputted on Progress Plus by other employees.

• Ensure the process/production engineering department are adding value to the business by implementing suitable tooling and improving key processes identified either internally by department members or by KPIs.

• To ensure customer design changes are carried out at agreed implementation points.

• Play an active role in process improvement groups to help find the root cause of faults and eliminate them.

• NPI

• Provide design for manufacture feedback to customers and prospective customers to ensure products are optimised for assembly using the companies processes.

KEY PERSONAL SKILLS

• Excellent communicator, written and verbal.

• Supervisory or Team Leading experience preferred.

• Disciplined and controlled approach.

• Strong eye for detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.

• Responsive.

• Must be able to work under own initiative to solve problems.

• Highly motivated and able to motivate others to achieve.

• Calm and collected, with the ability to work under pressure.
