About Volta Trucks
Founded in 2019, Volta Trucks has already launched the Volta Zero, the first purpose-built, fully electric large commercial vehicle designed specifically for inner city freight and parcel distribution. With large trucks accounting for 58% of cyclist fatalities and 23% of pedestrian deaths in London despite logging just 4% of road miles driven in the city, Volta Trucks is at the forefront of a significant revolution in freight transport. It has ripped up the rulebook to design a new kind of vehicle that is both much safer and more environmentally friendly than traditional commercial vehicles.
With the removal of a traditional combustion engine, Volta Zero’s designers have gained vital cockpit space and have been able to re-think how a truck is designed, resulting in greatly improved driver vision, augmented by a variety of complementary safety technologies.
Volta Trucks’ business and vehicles are defined by three pillars: safety, sustainability and electrification. Furthermore, the company is reimagining the business model for electric truck fleets, providing an innovative Truck as a Service (TaaS) solution for frictionless and hassle-free electrification of vehicle fleets for a single monthly fee.

In time it’s likely we’ll be looking for individuals with a sense of how to solve the wider engineering challenges of the future, with the ability to define processes and supplier bases and work beyond traditional OEM and manufacturing parameters. We’re likely to seek individuals with passenger and commercial vehicle backgrounds as well as those from innovative technical backgrounds.
