In this role you’ll plan, architect, develop and validate new features for Sonardyne’s products. This will include documenting software and updating specifications as required. Embedded Systems are at the core of their products so you’ll need to understand the deployment of real-time operating systems for low latency sensing and communication. This will naturally involve design, develop, and debug complex embedded systems utilising a broad range of communication protocols and peripherals, including hardware in the loop testing, debugging, and validation.

 Knowledge, Skills and Experience

·         C/C++ - Able to code at expert in their C & C++ targeted at Linux based embedded systems.

 ·         Embedded SW - Experience of developing for and debugging on Linux based embedded devices, including cross-compiling for different hardware architectures, virtualisation and docker concepts. Experienced working with Buildroot or Yocto based systems.

 ·         Qualifications -Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Physics, Maths, Software Engineering, Computer Science or relevant 5+ years of proven software engineering job experience and on the job training equivalent to a degree.

 This opportunity would suit a Software Engineer who is creative & technically curious. Engineers who are analytical, show good attention to detail and have an open communication style work well in this company. An Engineer who can own the task, is genuinely interested technology and has a bit of passion is what we are really after. You might need to be in a position to obtain security clearance for this position.
