Software Integration Engineer

As a Senior Integration Engineer, you will support the Principal Engineer to ensure reliability, functionality, and performance of our Electrical systems.

 

•You will work collaboratively with all function groups to ensure compatibility of the software and feature changes at a vehicle level.

•You will collaborate with system and function owners to develop test plans and test cases to validate the integration of software and electrical systems.

•You will perform complete level testing on a variety of test assets (rigs and vehicles) to validate baseline releases, regression testing and functionality checks and feedback to stakeholders to support software releases.

•You will facilitate and support R&D teams with integrating and testing development versions of software, EE components and solutions.

•You will investigate and support troubleshooting issues and work closely with the development team to identify required resolution as well as support the implementation of mitigation plans.

•You will represent SW Integration team in multitude of engineering, technical and build forums for status reporting and escalation.

•You will lead and co-ordinate compatibility reviews, SW reviews and planning sessions to ensure customer requirements are met at each delivery stage.

•You will maintain accurate documentation of test plans and results ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

•You will manage and coordinate rig, build and prototype vehicle fleet software and car configuration release planning, testing and verification.

•You must be able to manage large workloads in a high-pressure environment and prioritise accordingly.

 

Mandatory skills

•Knowledge of Automotive Product development cycle with emphasis on software integration, release, test, and validation.

•Practical experience with vehicle network architectures CAN, LIN, FlexRay and Ethernet.

•Proven capability using diagnostic, test, and data logging tools (Vector tools, INCA or equivalent)

•Hands on experience in vehicle fault analysis - issue identification, debugging and working with cross functional teams to identifying and validate resolution.

•Experience in reading circuit diagrams.

•Experience of test and development on test properties such as rigs and lab cars.

•Experience of working in a cross functional team to root cause complex issues.

•Good written and verbal communication, including appropriate escalation and reporting where required.

•Minimum of 5 years experience in software/electrical integration or test role within the automotive industry.

 

Desirable skills

Knowledge of scripting languages (such as CAPL, VBA, Python).

Experience working with Hybrid or BEV architecture vehicles.

Experience in HIL.

Experience in Prototype and production build support.

Experience of automotive pre-production build environments: manufacturing processes, car configuration, VCATS implementation.

Experience using Volvo diagnostic tools such as DSA.
