Senior Buyer

​Role Overview:

This role is fundamental to the progression of the company’s aim to deliver prototype hydrogen vehicles, through to SOP within a timeline that will enable us to be first to market of this type of product. Experience within a manufacturing/automotive industry and project related exposure would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

•To lead and project manage the sourcing activity and delivery of Non-metallic, plastic, rubber, glazing, seating and associated parts for internal and external HGV cabin.

•Well versed in purchasing techniques and leading the vendor selection with excellent negotiation skills

•Support the Head of Purchasing in all commercial and contractual agreements associated with all your commodity purchases.

•Knowledge of leading purchasing practices and sourcing tactics related to direct spend, including prototype and production tooling.

•Responsibility for a medium-high part count (100-150)

•Experienced with high value tooling associated with the commodity and expertise in dealing with sign off/capex type spends.

Required Deliverables:

•Role is fundamental for the business to hit and achieve project related milestones from prototype through to SOP in 2026

•Role is fundamental to achieving critical financial and manufacturing timelines.

•Lead and establish a robust governance structure to manage strategic preferred suppliers to drive continuous improvements and deliver savings year on year.

• Put in place commercial agreements that covers pricing, quality, supply chain requirements , warranty and aftermarket/spares

Person Requirements:

Must be methodical and analytical with relevant skills on excel to manipulate and present accurate numbers.

Proficient with Word, Excel and all relevant IT requirements that would encompass this role.

Must have previous experience and with a proven track record within the selected commodities.

Relevant industry and project exposure with a minimum of 5 years

Educated to graduate level or with relevant business qualification i.e., CIPS (Minimum Level 5)

Must be flexible in terms of travel both UK and overseas.

Must have a can do and positive attitude and to work within a multi skilled environment.
