Programme Manager

Our Automotive Supply company based in Norfolk is seeking X2 Program Managers; within Manufacturing & Technical Engineering.

You will undertake project management of a stand-alone mid-sized project, group of smaller projects, or a subsidiary element of a main vehicle engineering and development program. General project management responsibility for the planning and coordination of the project activities, management of the manpower & facilities resources and achievement of deliverables to quality, timing and cost.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Lead and deliver project plans for new proposals and existing projects through liaison with functional departments leaders, including creation of cost models and customer quotes

2. Define project scope and timeline, identifying key project deliverables and milestones maintaining relevant documentation and communication with stakeholders

3. Manpower and facilities planning, ensure resources are available to support project activities, liaise with functional areas to ensure replacements are provided if necessary

4. Risk planning and management throughout project, following escalation procedures when necessary.

5. Manage project timing within overall program plan; track progress \ changes and develop recovery plans when necessary.

6. Control project spend within allocated budget using forecasting tools.

7. Ensure quality of deliverables from functional departments, manage achievement of project deliverables at program milestones, and facilitate customer sign-off at gateway stages.

8. Collate and deliver monthly management status report.

9. External customer liaison and reporting for stand-alone projects.

10. Resolve any open issues upon project completion, general final project report and collate lessons learned into database.

11. Maintain project file directory database, ensure configuration control for project documents and reports.

12. Supports all company and department activities associated with meeting the goal in the “Presidents Message”

13. Adopts and practices Kaizen principles and concepts, participates in continuous improvement and GEAR activities.

14. Follows all general procedures as indicated in the General Procedures section of the Level 3 Procedures Manual.

15. Supports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management systems (e.g. TS 16949, ISO 90012014).

16. Maintains working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.

17. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MANAGERIAL / SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:

No direct supervisory responsibilities, but carries out appropriate leadership / project management responsibilities. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and reviewing work amongst the procurement team.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

1. Minimum HNC\HND third level qualifications.

2. Preference will be given to candidates with Degree level in Mechanical \ Automotive Engineering

3. At least 5 years experience of working within automotive design and development programs

4. Understanding of Manufacturing Process and ability to understand Engineering drawings

5. Knowledge and experience of automotive product development process and activities

6. Good communication and professional presentation skills for customer and supplier interfacing

7. Leadership, man management and conflict resolution skills

8. Capable of organising and managing priorities, utilise problem solving techniques

9. Commercial analysis and budgeting skills, experience of working to customer contract terms

10. Computer literate, with advanced M\S Word, Powerpoint & Excel skills/abilities, M\S Project expertise preferred

Office environment; 15% travel required to customer offices, production locations, supplier production locations, etc.
