£70k + Bonus + Benefits + offshore payments

My client owns several technology and engineering businesses and are currently looking for someone to lead the integration and support activities for the various products that this group of companies are developing, to deliver larger systems to their shared clients.

Technically, this client develops products enabling offshore surveying using advanced communication and navigation systems, mainly for customers who work in the defence, o&g, renewables, AUV and ocean science sectors.

In this role you'd need to create support networks within each operating companies Technology Services divisions and be the focal point for integration, commissioning, training and demonstration of strategic Group integrations.

There's quite a bit of travel involved and it's estimated 12 trips a year for short durations, typically one week, to predominantly onshore, internal and customer, integration and trials sites. Longer duration offshore trips of around 2 weeks may be required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

• Degree level or equivalent qualification in a related discipline such as hydrographic surveying, geomatics or electronics, or equivalent work experience.

• Experience of providing first line technical support in either survey or offshore related engineering environment.

• Experience in delivering Offshore Survey and Inspection projects at a Senior level

• Ability of developing and generating written technical support material, white papers, reports etc.

• Technical curiosity and strong history of problem solving

Desirable

• Operational knowledge of Sonardyne or third party LBL/USBL/INS products and systems, product applications and detailed performance parameters would be an advantage.

• Understanding of EIVA Navisuite, Voyis and Sonardyne Fusion and Ranger systems would be desirable

• A knowledge of offshore positioning systems and software would be desirable

• Technical knowledge of Survey Systems integrations including, but not limited to, electrical and data communications interfaces, protocols and fault finding of common issues

• Operational knowledge of Laser and Multibeam surveys and data processing Project management experience in an onshore or offshore capacity related to hydrographic survey
