The Little Car Company makes officially branded drivable little cars for luxury high-end motor manufacturers. They are 75% scale, 100% electric and 200% fun tributes to classic cars: boasting swappable batteries, a sliding pedal box, regenerative braking and different driving modes. We’re already making cars for Bugatti, Aston Martin and Ferrari plus there are more to follow.

The role:

We are searching for a knowledgeable and driven Head of Procurement to lead our supply chain and Procurement team. An integral role within the business you will be responsible for the timely procurement of components and commodities for manufacture of our vehicles and to keep the business running with involvement to prototype projects. The successful candidate must be able to work both independently and as part of a small close-knit team. We’re a fast moving start up, and a ‘can do’ attitude is essential.

The day-to-day responsibilities:

Someone to own the Bill Of Materials cost for each of our models and find ways to reduce it. Keen financial focus.

Ability to find new suppliers, build relationships and negotiate with them.

Good existing database of suppliers would be useful, and experience of sourcing from lower cost markets (China for example) to reduce costs.

Lateral thinker in terms of finding solutions to sourcing challenges & reducing component supply timelines where possible.

Finding the best balance of Just In Time and stock on shelves to ensure smooth production with minimum delays due to supplier non-delivery.

Experience and knowledge of 3D printing.

Need significant manufacturing engineering knowledge to help guide design engineers during the design process. Able to understand and interpret detailed component and assembly drawings

Experience of ERP System - ideally SAP Business One.

At least 10 years’ experience at a senior level.

Excellent interpersonal skills, and calm authority.

Managing a team of 2/3 but will need to recruit at least one more once they join. Team will grow over time.

Experience within small/medium businesses in the automotive space

Excellent problem solving and lateral thinking skills.
