Our Electronics Manufacturing Client based in Fareham are recruiting a new Production Supervisor on a permanent basis reporting to the Production Manager. To be suitable for this role you must come from an electronics / PCB / subcontract manufacturing background. You will be leading a team of 15 people.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Responsible for the supervision of a number of production areas/teams within the companies manufacturing department. Areas could include mechanical assembly, soldering, cable and wiring, potting and test.

DUTIES

• To mentor and supervise all production staff within the defined area of responsibility, motivating, encouraging and directing them in matters technical and operational.

• Ensure that all relevant PV procedures are being followed and carry our operator audits IAW PV505

• Ensure that every operator is trained for the tasks that they undertake and that this is correctly reflected in the skills matrix. Also ensure that they have the correct tools / resources to do the job efficiently, know how long it is meant to take, due delivery date etc.

• To respond to any difficulties that may occur immediately and assess the situation and make a judgment as to whether the job can carry on.

• Ensure that the agreed KPI targets of quality, on time delivery, expenditure, productivity and cost reduction are met within areas of responsibility.

• Proactively advise management of any issues that could affect delivery

• Assist in problem investigation / Root Cause Analysis / corrective and preventative actions for any Non Conformance reviews.

• Promote and maintain moral of production staff.

• Assist with the recruitment of staff within the area of responsibility and the approval of their subsequent training.

• Conduct team briefings to inform staff of operational issues, company news and performance against

KPI’s.

Promote the continuous improvement policy, which enables all staff to contribute ideas, and help to implement sound initiatives in a structured fashion.

This is a key role to support the business activities in our factory. Day to day work priorities will be given by the Production Manager.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Good communicator, written and verbal.

• Resourceful

• Ability to work under minimal supervision to solve problems in a structured and logical manner.

• Motivated, calm, and collected with ability to work under pressure.

• Good time management skills.

• Experience and knowledge of working in an electronics manufacturing environment

• Sound knowledge of IPC soldering and assembly standards
