Senior Engineer, Technical Regulations - Assisted & Automated Driving

I am currently looking to recruit a Senior Engineer, Technical Regulations - Assisted And Automated Driving for our Global OEM client.
 
This is an exciting lead role where you will be engaging with all relevant authorities in regulation & legislation for the company, deriving the right technical requirements both for development, testing and homologation of vehicles.
 
Key duties; 
 
Definition of requirements and plans to achieve compliance of the ADAS systems with all legal and regulatory requirements in the jurisdictions of interest (e.g. UN-ECE, NHTSA).
Leading the relevant ADAS type approval activities (e.g. technical documentation and certification witness test with Authorities and Technical Services (e.g. VCA, Idiada).
Represent the business in the relevant committees in the relevant jurisdictions for the definition of regulatory requirements.
 
 
Essential:
 
Relevant experience in the technical development of ADAS/AV coupled with experience in regulatory field.
Proven track record in regulatory and governmental affairs work for automated driving and/or ADAS.
Wide network in Manufacturer’s Associations (SMMT, VDA, ACEA, OICA) and Regulatory Affairs (UNECE – and various DfTs, NHTSA, MIIT, Type Approval Authorities, European Commission, etc.)
Ethical, moral and compliant conduct as to build and further expand the network to regulators, legislators and internal stakeholders.
Leadership abilities and can-do mentality.
Analytical skills including the ability to conduct complex research into new technologies.
Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred.
 
 
Desirable:
 
Ability to effectively explain complex ideas, confidently presenting these to senior stakeholders.
Deep understanding of the implications of automated driving on the technical development, regulatory regime and society.
Advocating automated driving internally and externally.
