Job Description
This is a really nice opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer who likes to make a difference and enjoys variety in their working day. As part of a drive to improve overall quality, our client is in the early stages of introducing new processes and tools throughout the business and is looking for a Quality Engineer who can influence change, bridge the gap between Engineering and Production, visit customers/suppliers and drive CI initiatives.
Our client has been at the forefront of marine electronics & innovation for the last 45 years. They are an independent manufacturing business & employ almost 300 professionals worldwide. The company offers interesting engineering challenges that require complex solutions and as such staff turnover is low due to the nature of the work and the way people are treated.
Ideally we are looking for a Quality Engineer who has a good breadth of experience. A Degree would be ideal but is not essential, although you should be able to demonstrate qualifications such as an HND for example. Any membership of the CQI or lead auditor status would also be preferred but relevant industry experience and certain personality traits are key for this position, such as: Adaptable, assertive, influencing, coaching, problem solving, diplomatic, initiative, organised, achiever.
A practical knowledge of IPC Standards and experience of managing a certified quality management system ISO/ AQAP/TS would be ideal.
Industry experience from the automotive, electronics or defence/aerospace industries would also be welcomed.
This position would suit a Quality Engineer who is looking for autonomy and a chance to implement RCA, FMEA, PPAP, APQP principles in a manufacturing company that is looking to change and improve.
