Job Description

I am currently looking to recruit a Project Manager for our F1 client. 
 
This key role will see the successful candidate create and execute plans for the ESS Pack build, supply chain and purchasing to deliver ESS Packs for development, dyno, track test and race requirements.
 
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
An empowered project owner responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the ESS project across multiple work streams
Working to deliver the cost effective and timely procurement and supply of components and finished ESS Packs to support the race event and other programmes
Delivering improvements to the complete supply chain and assembly process from interaction with the Designers to delivery of components
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
 
Detailed planning and task management including loading of component production routings and work orders
Reconciliation and management of demand in support of race, test and development programmes
Capacity planning in support of the project sourcing strategy
Purchasing in support of the programme with a focus on machined components and CF composite components and electronic assemblies
Work with the project team to ensure projects are de-risked ahead of launch and all work is being managed within processes outlined
Deliver ESS programme within the Key Performance Indicator targets
Support to the Head of ESS Programme in day to day "short term" and "long term" project management and delivery of projects to the required quantities and timescale outlined
Continual feedback on templated plans to ensure programme and project planning is accurate and After-Action Reviews are logged understood and acted upon
Negotiate with suppliers, manage their performance and ensure supplier due date adherence   Work with Internal Manufacturing to clearly define appropriate and risk managed make/buy strategies for your work stream.
Feedback to Engineering Team Leaders on manufacturing and process improvements which can maintain performance but lessen lead times and promote faster delivery from concept to the track
To act as a 'focal point" on assigned projects for Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality and the Customer

Project Management Qualifications or equivalent experience
Understanding of the commercial aspect of low volume small batch manufacture
Previous experience in a similar position within a high precision manufacturing environment (ideally metals, composites and electrical components)   
Experience of continuous improvement techniques would be a distinct advantage
