Our manufacturing client is seeking a New Product Assembly Manager from a heavy equipment manufacturing / machines based background.

Job Purpose:
To lead the New Product Assembly production facility and ensure all production outputs are delivered on time, on budget and in an efficient way.

? To manage the new product assembly line.
? To be able to also be hands on when required to support production output. 90% of the time will be spent on the shopfloor.
? Be able to offer solutions to problems when they occur.
? Understand requirements and prioritise according to production demands from the planning engineer and operations manager
? Communicate status of jobs and advise requirements or preferably solutions.
? Keep the daily SQCDP boards up to date and relevant to the business strategy
? Define and communicate plan with actuals and targets – this must ensure that 100% of the team understands what to do and when to achieve it by.
? With assistance of Operations Manager hold cell meetings with teams working in relevant areas ensuring issues have been reported and are being actioned so plan is achieved.
? Communicate with other production area manager to ensure scheduling of parts to support new product build and test for on time delivery.
? Ensure all members working within your scope of work has signed and understood the relevant EHS risk assessments.
? Ensure housekeeping is maintained at required levels
? Monitor & maintain productivity levels of each area and report weekly against KPI’s
? Implement lean tools into this area
? Work with planning to maximise efficiency on equipment usage in order to prevent output slippage
? To be responsible for the daily and weekly operations within the production area
? Be accountable for all of the above
? Bring good levels of discipline into the production area.
? Create and maintain for this area preventative maintenance plans.

? Previous worked and managed multi discipline teams including areas such as fabrication, electrical, stores
? Need to be a logical thinker and process driven.
? Must of done the journey themselves implementing new process and ways of working not just had it done for them
? Worked within a low volume bespoke manufacturing environment.

Experience & Skills
? Seasoned engineer with at least 5 years of related experience, preferably in the heavy equipment manufacturing / machines

Specific Knowledge
? Understand and gain knowledge about Engineering products, equipment

? Engineering degree or HND/HNC with relevant experience.
