Founded in 2019, we are building electric trucks specifically to be used in and around cities and urban areas. The company’s ambition is to remove tailpipe emissions, reduce city pollution, and completely redesign the vehicle to make it significantly safer – for drivers as well as pedestrians and cyclists. We are a small and tight knit team wanting to work with those who share our passion, our values and our drive to make city centres safer and cleaner.
The Role
You will take charge of delivering information systems across the range of Volta Trucks business, working with internal stakeholders to enable the company’s growth in a planned and controlled way. The scope of this will include all activities across the business from office systems to customer relations, sales and order processing, engineering systems, purchasing and manufacturing, aftersales and workshop systems deployment.
Main Responsibilities
• Collect and analyse current and future needs of the business across its scope of operations
• Develop a system architecture and deployment plan to ensure that business needs are met in a timely way
• Lead the selection of software/hardware platforms and service partners, in collaboration with functional stakeholders and in line with budgets
• Ensure security and regulatory compliance across the business systems
• Develop critical incident strategies and recovery plans to protect the business
• Provide user support services to ensure that IT provisions are fit for day-to-day use at all times
Qualifications and Experience
• Consultative background ensuring best practice at every stage
• Experience building IT Strategy from the ground up in a fast-growing organisation
• 10 years+ experience in specifying and deploying business, engineering, manufacturing and sales order systems in a complex product-based environment
• Specific experience in integration of PLM, MRP/ERP and CRM systems
• University degree in a relevant engineering topic
• Hands-on approach - practical, enthusiastic and client-oriented
• Strong communication skills and fluent in English
• Strong team leadership and interpersonal skills, cross cultural understanding, organizing and coordinating ability
• Ability to drive and complete tasks independently, task oriented and high attention to detail
• Ability to work in a complex and ambiguous environment
• Positive and passionate, good team player
