Job Description

High-performance engineering business providing solutions in electric powertrains, is looking to develop a proven System Engineer to become their subject matter lead in ISO26262, System Safety and Functional Safety. 

My client offers solutions in battery systems, electric/hybrid drivetrains and control systems, offering services from initial concept through to low volume production within the Automotive, Motorsport, Marine and Military sectors.

Ideally we are looking for a proven Systems Engineer who has gained around 2+ years’ experience ideally in powertrain controls, BMS, high-voltage, electrical power supplies or Hybrid Vehicles. You will have already gained some exposure to supporting system engineering activities according to ISO26262.

My client is offering the opportunity to develop the successful candidate into the company’s subject matter expert (SME) for ISO26262. You will be involved in the delivery of a wide-range of the niche automotive projects, many of which are high-performance multi-motor EVs.

As the role of a System Engineer develops it will involve:
• Act as a central system safety & functional safety expert
• Understand the intended functionality of systems in a broad automotive context
• Generate the necessary safety documentation depending on the project by following ISO26262: Fault-tree analysis, Hazard analysis, technical safety concepts and requirements
• Eventually lead functional safety reviews with the project team and customer
