Job Description

Our Automotive client are seeking a Design Quality Engineer on a permanent basis. This is a key role within the business, and supports the R&D function carrying out technical investigations and promoting
countermeasures in Europe to improve customer satisfaction.

Main Responsibilities:

o Leading Quality projects related to design and specification with cross-functional teams.
o Carry out complex technical investigations and deploy countermeasure actions that improve vehicle, reduce warranty cost and improve customer satisfaction.
o Use in-house systems to collect market data and incident parts.
o Travel to incident vehicles, operational environment and clarify customer requirements.
o Take hands on approach to locally reproducing symptoms and analysing defective parts/vehicles/Software
o To take investigation beyond the existing company available information
o Preparing reports, present results to senior managers and executives
o The role will require frequent travel to overseas and on occasions at short notice

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

Essential:
o University degree in Automotive Engineering/Mechanical/Mechatronics
o Demonstrable Problem solving skills
o Strong communication and leadership skills that will build good relationships
o High level of self-motivation and able to handle multiple tasks under pressure to achieve deadlines
o Team player with ability to work with cross-functional teams (Service, Factory and Design)
o Quick learner (New technologies, tools and techniques)
o Excellent IT skills (Excel, Power Point)

Desirable:
o Hands on vehicle maintenance experience
o Previous experience of working within Quality
o Automotive experience of leading technical projects.
o Automotive experience in testing, data logging and diagnostics
o Knowledge of Infotainment systems, Telematics, Software investigations (Advantage)
o Knowledge of sensors set-up, SW Control, Power Electronics and e-Drives (Advantage)
