Our automotive client develops electric performance & high-performance cars. We are seeking 2 x Automotive Consultant - Vehicle Integration to join our highly talented team.
The Role
• Responsible for the Total Vehicle Package
• Ensure that the package model and the vehicle surface comply with the timing, styling, engineering and legal criteria
• Responsible for converting the Product Profile into technical targets via the VTS
• Arbitrate cross functional technical issues to ensure integration and balance of all functions
• Manage design iterations between functional areas and the studio in order to ensure styling and package feasibility
• Resolve cross-functional design conflicts, and generate design solutions to achieve this
• Supervise the work output of the Package Zone Engineers
• Develop and monitor achievement of overall vehicle technical targets integrating Design, CAE, legal and performance criteria
• Provide cross functional technical leadership
• Establish overall vehicle technical targets and manage technical trade-offs to achieve overall vehicle attributes
• Ensure DVP testing validates compliance with technical and legal targets
• To document and manage mitigation of known technical risks
• Collate and manage feature benchmark and vehicle package data
• Ensure compatibility of the vehicle design with the manufacturing and assembly strategy
• Manage the Digital buck and Digital Build events to improve the quality of the prototype build
• Undertake basic clash detection in Enovia
The Person
• At least 5 years experience of automotive engineering/development with a thorough understanding of whole vehicle packaging
• Experience of operating in a leading role, taking responsibility for the activities of an immediate team of design engineers and co-ordinating a wider team of internal and external specialists and subcontractors to produce a fully integrated solution
• Production-oriented approach towards automotive development, with a comprehensive understanding of low-volume component manufacturing and assembly and a demonstrable track record of bringing low-medium volume products to market
• CAD (CATIA) proficient to deliver key packaging and analysis tasks
• Well-organised and methodical approach to planning and executing a project
• Skilled communicator and network/relationship builder
