Quality Engineer
📍 Abingdon, Oxfordshire | 🕒 Full-time | Permanent

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join a high-performing manufacturing team. This role is central to ensuring products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. You will work across all stages of production to maintain and improve Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with AS9100 and ISO9001 standards. The position involves close collaboration with engineering, production, and operational teams to drive a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, develop, and improve the company’s AS9100 and ISO9001-compliant QMS.

  • Conduct internal audits and prepare reports on compliance and performance.

  • Investigate non-conformances, determine root causes, and implement corrective/preventive actions.

  • Support process capability analysis and apply statistical process control to monitor performance.

  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to update and standardise quality procedures.

  • Deliver training and guidance on quality standards, tools, and best practices.

  • Participate in management reviews and contribute to QMS improvement plans.

  • Support customer and supplier quality audits, providing documentation and evidence as required.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in engineering, materials science, or a related technical discipline.

  • 2+ years’ experience in a quality engineering or quality management role.

  • Experience in a manufacturing or precision engineering environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret measurement and process data.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.

Desirable

  • Formal internal auditor training and/or experience.

  • Knowledge of AS9100 or ISO9001 standards and their application
  • Experience with metal additive manufacturing or advanced manufacturing technologies.

  • Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control) tools and methods.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts to meet production demands.
