We are seeking a Technician to join our HyGe Pedestrian and Structures team on a 12 month contract.
Inside IR35 12 month contract role.
In this role, you will be instrumental in conducting dynamic crash simulations using our HyGe sled testing system, focusing on pedestrian safety and structural integrity assessments. Your responsibilities will include preparing test components and rigs, executing precise impact tests, and analysing data to evaluate vehicle compliance with safety standards. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to the development of safer vehicle designs and advanced occupant protection systems.
Main Purpose of Job
• Prepare test components and rigs for Hyge, Pedestrian and Structures tests
• Testing and associated duties
Key Functions
Supporting with the preparation of vehicles and components for safety & structural testing.
Products tested range from complete vehicles to individual components. e.g. Airbags, seat belts, BIW, aircraft and rail seats. Key aspects of the role will involve working alongside existing qualified staff to gain experience in:
• Installing and preparing test rigs, customers parts refit, and full vehicle preparation
• Fit transducers for gathering data
• Setting up data acquisition equipment and downloading post test
Internal
• Setting up high speed digital camera equipment and downloading post test
• Setting up of test labs ready for testing including HyGe Lab, Pedestrian Lab, Visibility Lab,
Torsion Test, Drop Test, Pendulum Impact and Seat Back Moment
• Taking legislative photos & videos of the test & setup
• Supporting with facility maintenance
• Fabrication of test rigs
• Knowledge of UKAS 17025
Essential Qualifications
• Engineering/Science qualification
Minimum Level 2 with experiential
portfolio equivalence
Preferred Qualifications
• Engineering/Science qualification Level 3.
