About Vintage Bentley
We are a thriving enterprise run by an experienced leadership team employing over 25 highly skilled individuals. Our vision is ‘to be the global home of the vintage Bentley’.
As specialists to the marque, each year we deliver over 16,000 workshop hours, provide 4,500 lines of parts – 65% of which are manufactured in-house, prepare for, and attend international events, present some of the most historic W.O.’s in our showroom and market to a significant global audience.
William Medcalf Vintage Bentley is an automotive specialist servicing all aspects of the Vintage Bentley community. Operating for over 30 years, and for the last eight years from our site in Liss, the business trades on three key strengths:
- Parts manufacture and supply, boasting the world’s largest stock holding of WO Bentley parts
- A workshop specialising in servicing, restoring and rally preparation
- Vehicle sales and sourcing
As a small yet strong team, we are often on the lookout for enthusiastic and motivated people to join our ever-evolving team.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Planning and Logistics Manager to take ownership of the planning and logistics function for the business.
This is a standalone role with no direct reports, overseeing manufacturing and workshop planning, inventory flow and logistics operations, while coordinating closely with production, workshop, procurement and sales teams to ensure supply meets demand.
The role would suit somebody with solid experience in project planning, logistics, or supply chain management within a manufacturing or warehouse environment, who is ready to take ownership of planning processes and drive efficiency across the operation.
Importantly, this role does not necessarily require previous management experience. We would also consider a strong, hands-on individual who has gained relevant experience within a high-performance automotive or manufacturing environment and is looking for the opportunity to take ownership of a project and develop the planning and logistics function.
As the business grows, there is the opportunity for the role to progress into a larger people management position.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage production and material planning schedules to align with workshop demand, customer orders and forecast planning.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, liaising with suppliers and scheduling our team of drivers and external couriers. Work to maintain a positive working relationship with these key stakeholders.
- Monitor inventory levels and develop a purchasing strategy to ensure the business maintains the correct level of stock parts.
- Supervise and support stores manager, providing guidance and performance feedback.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce lead times and logistics costs.
Skills and Qualities
- 3–6 years' experience in production planning, logistics, or supply chain management, ideally in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and inventory management software.
- Strong XLS skills and ideally some experience using AI to support in data analysis.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make sound planning decisions.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across teams and mentor junior staff.
