An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Embedded Electronics Engineer to join an innovative engineering and manufacturing business developing advanced technology products for global markets.
Working within a collaborative Product Development team, you'll play a key role in the design and development of embedded control electronics and firmware for new products, taking projects through the complete engineering lifecycle from concept and design through to validation, certification and production release.

The Role
As an Embedded Electronics Engineer, you'll be responsible for the design, development and validation of embedded control electronics and firmware, ensuring products meet performance, safety and compliance requirements before release into manufacture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and development of mixed-signal control electronics.
- Development and maintenance of embedded firmware using C/C++.
- Design and implementation of communication protocols.
- Supporting product safety and regulatory compliance activities.
- Defining verification and validation requirements for new electronic designs.
- Producing technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle.
- Supporting manufacturing with technical investigations and product improvements.
- Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to successfully deliver new products.
About You
We're looking for someone with a strong background in embedded electronics who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and developing robust, reliable products.
You'll ideally have:
- Degree qualified in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Around 2-3 years' experience within an electronics design and development environment.
- Experience of mixed-signal electronic design including analogue and digital circuits.
- Strong embedded C/C++ development experience using STM32, NXP or similar microcontrollers.
- Experience with communication protocols including RS232, SPI, I2C, CAN and TCP/IP.
- PCB schematic capture and layout experience using Altium Designer or similar software.
- Experience working across the full product development lifecycle.
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- FreeRTOS or Zephyr.
- Python development.
- C/C++ development on Windows or Linux.
- FPGA development using VHDL or Verilog.
- EMC design principles.
- Functional safety or regulatory compliance standards.
