As Business Development Manager for the product range, you will be responsible for meeting and exceeding the annual product sales targets using your technical knowledge along with sales skills to provide advice and support on the full range of products (and businesses associated service, repair and calibration services).
In this role you will be responsibly for identifying new business leads for product sales, assisting colleagues with product demonstrations and then supporting the creation of quotes (and tenders) for new client sales and then the positive closure of those deals.
The role will include dealing with a wide variety of end user market segments including the oil & gas, medical and pharmaceutical, automotive, aerospace and process industries here in the UK
You will be a primary point of contact for customers on a variety of technical points both pre and after the sales process. 
You will have regular contact with customers, our principal and other members of the UK team and you will be used to dealing with the following key personas:
• design
• development
• production
• purchasing
• quality
• research
• senior company managers

Key accountabilities:
• Search for and qualify new clients who might benefit from the range of products and maximize client potential throughout the UK
• Develop and maintain long-term relationships with new and existing clients, through managing and interpreting their requirements
• Persuade clients that the range of products best satisfies their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery (amongst other tangible benefits of the products)
• Negotiate tender and contract terms and conditions to meet both client and businesses UK needs
• Calculate client quotations and administer client accounts in conjunction with Inside Sales team 
• Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education
• Arrange and administer product demonstration on customer and businesses UK sites as required
• Support customer and inside sales team with after-sales support services and provide technical back up as required
• Arrange and carry out product training on customer and businesses UK sites as needed
• Support the analysis of costs and sales
• Maintain records to support regular reporting of sales and forecasted sales for head office and local teams
• Meet (or exceed) regular sales targets and coordinate sales projects
• Support marketing activities by creating and operating e-campaigns, attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events
• Liaise with other members of the sales team and other technical experts
• Help in the design of custom-made packages to support customer requirements

Essential experience:    
• Minimum of 5yrs experience in the sales of technical product
• Relevant higher education qualification in an engineering or sales discipline
• Ability to understand complex requirements and affect buying decisions
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with customers and peers
