The Role
Commissioning Engineers play a vital role in ensuring lighting and control systems operate exactly as intended and meet both client expectations and project specifications.
This is a home-based role with regular regional travel, combining hands-on site commissioning with fault-finding, testing, optimisation and client handover activity.

Key Responsibilities
• Commissioning lighting and lighting control systems in line with project specifications
• Electrical fault finding, troubleshooting and system diagnostics
• Advising on installation improvements and best practice
• Planning and coordinating commissioning activities to meet project deadlines
• Creating, carrying out and demonstrating test and operational procedures
• Liaising with project managers, contractors and installation teams
• Managing and supporting engineering or technical staff where required
• Producing commissioning reports and technical documentation
• Providing technical support during installation and post-handover
• Ensuring safe working practices at all times
• Training client maintenance and operational teams at system handover

Experience
• Electrical or lighting systems commissioning experience (or closely related building systems)
• Background in testing, installation, fault finding or system integration
• Commercial awareness and a customer-focused mindset
• Comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines
Qualifications
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
• Electrical qualifications or relevant technical training desirable

• Flexibility to work unsocial hours or shift patterns when required (e.g. live or 24-hour buildings)
• Willingness to travel regionally and attend meetings outside normal office hours
