About the Role
We are looking for a Calibration Technician / Engineer to join the dedicated Calibration Centre team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for carrying out calibration of a wide range of instruments, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 standards. You’ll work with state-of-the-art reference equipment, produce technical calibration certificates and reports, and support both in-house and client-site calibration projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform multi-disciplinary instrument calibration without supervision, following approved departmental procedures.
- Produce accurate Calibration Certificates and technical reports to ISO 17025 standards.
- Assess instrument faults during calibration and perform component-level changes, including installation of surface-mount devices where required.
- Plan and execute calibration work on client sites, acting as the main point of contact for client liaison.
- Maintain accurate calibration records and ensure all reference standards are used and stored appropriately.
- Set up, program, and learn new reference equipment and calibration methods quickly.
- Use computer databases and software for equipment management and calibration data processing.
- Work collaboratively with engineering staff to support the development and improvement of calibration methods.
- Adhere to quality, health & safety, and laboratory standards at all times.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade A*–C or equivalent).
- Level 3 qualification in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a calibration laboratory.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict procedures.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team and with clients.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Level 4 qualification in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
- At least 2 years’ experience working in an ISO 17025 accredited calibration laboratory.
- Experience with fault diagnosis, instrument repair, and component-level work.
- Exposure to multi-disciplinary calibration environments (electrical, electronic, mechanical, etc.).
