Crash Test Technician

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Crash Test Technician to support vehicle safety testing programs. This hands-on role involves preparing, calibrating, and maintaining crash test dummies, as well as supporting vehicle-based safety assessments aligned with EuroNCAP protocols. You'll work in a dynamic, safety-critical environment, contributing to industry-leading automotive safety research.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and certify crash test dummies in line with regulatory standards

• Install and remove crash test dummies in test vehicles pre- and post-collision

• Perform regular maintenance, calibration, and record-keeping for dummy components

• Conduct vehicle-based safety assessments and collect precise measurement data

• Produce template-based reports for submission to NCAP programs

• Follow strict processes, technical procedures, and international regulations

• Support cross-functional teams and contribute to ongoing lab operations

• Provide occasional out-of-hours support as needed

Essential Skills & Experience:

• NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)

• GCSEs (A–C / 4–9) in English, Maths, and Science

• Excellent mechanical fitting and manual handling skills

• Experience using hand tools and maintaining equipment

• Competence in MS Office and basic computer literacy

• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow procedures accurately

• Physically fit and safety-conscious

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Level 4 qualification in Electro/Mechanical Engineering

• Familiarity with EuroNCAP protocols and safety testing procedures

• Experience with measurement instrumentation

• Full UK driving license
