Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000

We’re looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing Operations Engineering team in Southampton. This is a fantastic chance to be part of a new and developing team, where you’ll have real scope to shape processes, drive improvements, and grow your career.

You’ll work closely with production teams and R&D, supporting day-to-day operations, introducing new products, and delivering key improvements across yield, quality, and efficiency. Experience in fibre processing is welcome but not required – full training will be provided where needed. What matters most is your solid background in manufacturing engineering and your drive to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting production equipment, ensuring effective service, repair, calibration, and TPM activities.
  • Leading problem-solving and root cause analysis to deliver corrective actions.
  • Driving process improvements across value streams to boost yield, efficiency, and quality.
  • Supporting lean manufacturing initiatives and contributing to continuous improvement projects.
  • Handling documentation control, data analysis, and reporting on KPIs.
  • Assisting with new product introductions, working closely with R&D.
  • Engaging in failure analysis and improvement activities to reduce scrap and improve reliability.

What we’re looking for:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
  • Strong background in lean manufacturing, value stream mapping, and process improvements.
  • Experience with documentation control and failure analysis.
  • Confident problem-solver who can deliver practical solutions.
  • Degree (or equivalent) in an engineering or science discipline.

  • Hands-on and methodical, with a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Eager to develop new skills and grow with the business.
