Order Management Specialist

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Order Management Specialist to join a dynamic manufacturing business based in Southampton. In this critical role, you’ll oversee end-to-end order processing — from capturing customer orders to ensuring timely fulfilment — working closely with planning, sales, and production teams to deliver exceptional service and on-time delivery.
Ideally we are looking for someone who works in a mid-high manufacturing industry, understands how to manage internal and external stakeholders.
In this role you could be managing 10-20 customers per day. Therefore, you will need to be commercially aware.
Key Responsibilities
- Order Processing: Monitor and manage the shared inbox to ensure all customer orders are accurately captured, reviewed, and processed in line with departmental targets.
- Scheduling & Acknowledgements: Coordinate with planning teams to provide timely order confirmations and ensure product launches stay on track.
- Prioritisation & Delivery Management: Prioritise orders effectively to meet delivery commitments and manage customer expectations.
- Lead Time Monitoring: Track product lead times and escalate any deviations from agreed timelines.
- Customer Communications: Act as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication around order progress and any changes.
- Issue Resolution: Proactively address order-related issues or delays and communicate solutions clearly and promptly to customers.
What You’ll Bring
Essential Experience:
- 3–5 years’ experience in order management or order processing within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience working with production and delivery planning (S&OP).
- Comfortable working alongside sales teams and communicating across departments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Desirable Experience:
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Winman and/or SAP.
- Knowledge of value stream thinking and production optimisation techniques.

5 days in the office for 3-6 months. then Hybrid. 2 days from home
