Data & Statistical Modelling Engineer
Oxfordshire
£Competitive + Good Benefits
Our client is a fast-growing, venture-backed advanced manufacturing company, redefining how high-performance metal components are designed and produced. By combining machine learning, physics-based modelling, and metal 3D printing, the team is pushing the boundaries of what engineered materials can achieve.
They are now seeking a sharp, intellectually curious engineer to help scale next-generation manufacturing systems.
The Role
Laser Powder Bed Fusion machines generate vast streams of data. The successful candidate will turn that data into insight and predictive power.
Responsibilities include:
- Building statistical and machine learning models to predict machine and component performance
- Identifying key drivers of variation in advanced manufacturing processes
- Designing robust data pipelines that transform raw machine signals into reliable, decision-ready outputs
- Collaborating with materials scientists, process engineers, and software developers to improve production reliability and scalability
This is not dashboard-building. It is modelling physical systems — and improving how they behave in the real world.
The Ideal Candidate
- Background in mathematics, physics, engineering, computer science, or a related STEM discipline
- Strong coding skills (Python preferred)
- Excited by complex systems, uncertainty, and real-world data
- Motivated by seeing models influence hardware and production outcomes
- Experience in probabilistic modelling, time-series analysis, or additive manufacturing is advantageous.
This is an opportunity for ambitious early-career intellectuals who want their work to shape the future of advanced manufacturing.
