We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering team in Portsmouth. This role is central to delivering safe, efficient and high-quality manufacturing processes, supporting both new product introduction (NPI) and ongoing continuous improvement.

The Role

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for manufacturing feasibility, process and facility planning, and providing technical support to Product Engineering and Production. You will work cross-functionally to ensure products are introduced smoothly into production and manufactured efficiently, safely and to specification.

Key responsibilities include:

·         Planning and implementing safe, efficient production systems, processes and facilities

·         Managing manufacturing activities throughout the NPI lifecycle

·         Capacity planning to align manufacturing capability with business demand

·         Capital and manufacturing cost planning and analysis

·         Driving Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and 5S activities

·         Working closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Projects, Logistics and Maintenance teams

·         Supporting a strong safety, quality and performance-driven culture

 

About You

We are really looking for a proactive, hands-on engineer with strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach. A positive can do attitude, willingness to learn and a desire to do a great job are key for this team.

 

Essential requirements:

·         Degree or HND in Mechanical or Manufacturing / Production Engineering

·         Experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role

·         Experience with process planning, NPI and manufacturing feasibility

·         Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools

·         Experience working with production equipment, tooling and suppliers

·         Competent with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

·         Training or experience in Risk Assessments, COSHH, FMEA and 5S is desirable.
