Are you passionate about cutting-edge engineering and advanced manufacturing? An exciting opportunity is available for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a fast-moving team developing next-generation microturbine engines for jet propulsion applications.

This role focuses on the design and prototyping of compact, high-performance jet engines, with outer diameters ranging from 60–240 mm. Leveraging additive manufacturing, the goal is to surpass current performance standards through innovative geometries, thermally advanced materials, and reduced part counts — enabling faster, more cost-effective production.

You'll collaborate closely with simulation, manufacturing, and experimental teams to iterate and validate designs in real-world testing environments. Based at a UK manufacturing site, this is a unique chance to contribute to highly advanced technologies from concept through to prototype.

Responsibilities:
Create and develop 3D CAD models and detailed technical drawings.
Contribute to mechanical layout and packaging of components within structural, thermal, and spatial limits.
Collaborate on design iterations based on simulation and experimental feedback.
Support rapid prototyping and evaluate designs for manufacturability.
Maintain clear documentation and version control in CAD/PLM systems.
Participate in design reviews and continuously refine engineering outputs.

Requirements:
Degree in Mechanical or Product Design Engineering (or equivalent).
1+ years of experience in mechanical/product design.
Proficient with CAD tools (e.g. SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Catia, Creo, Inventor).
Strong grasp of DFMA principles, especially for rotating components.
Skilled in technical drawing standards (e.g. GD&T, ISO/ASME).
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.

Desirable:
Experience with additive manufacturing design principles.
Knowledge of PLM tools and collaborative workflows.
Interest in aerospace or high-performance component design.
