Founded in 2004, P2i is a global leader in liquid repellent nanotechnology. It works with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to enhance devices by making them liquid resistant, provide waterproof protection, improve their reliability and enable them to survive liquid exposure from everyday accidents.
We enjoy a fantastic relationship with the team at P2i and are inspired by the company’s example: excellence across industries is something we’ve always striven for, so P2i’s innovation, with its applications in so many sectors, resonates with our team.
The P2i team is pushing the boundaries of science and engineering. Its world-leading nano-coating technologies already protect over 500 million devices, from smartphones to Hearing Aids and filtration systems. It’s a global company, headquartered in the UK with offices across Asia, with technology implemented in factories around the world, and customers across eighteen countries in five continents.
I’m delighted that our whole team has played a part in our relationship with P2i. Any success we’ve enjoyed so far has been helped no end by the progressiveness of the recruiting process there, with hiring managers able to define their own roles and work with Gerrell & Hard consultants as they see fit. Automotive: a changing world
We formalise our partnership with P2i in our tenth year. Since founding Gerrell & Hard, we’ve seen technology undergo a period of unprecedented change, with the rise of innovation companies like P2i straddling a range of more traditional sectors and opening avenues into future technology and science, with a range of attendant challenges in locating and hiring skilled employees.
Creative hiring for a new world
When you’re dealing with roles and technologies that are new to science, you have no choice but to be creative with your hiring, and the Gerrell & Hard team has enjoyed every challenge P2i has set us. We’ve helped the team to create vacancies that didn’t previously exist, identifying transferrable skills and markets and creating highly specialised roles for talented scientists and technologists. It’s been a fun and instructive process, and we appreciate the freedom and trust P2i gives us.
The need for creative hiring is growing. In the automotive industry, where we channelled much of our attention when we founded, big carmakers, new consultancies and independent start-ups are focused overwhelmingly on mobility, energy, technology and data. New boundaries are broken with every major innovation, every new solution, every response to the global energy or climate crises. The fourth industrial revolution is writ large across the sector. I’m proud to be working with an innovative and exciting company like P2i, and of how the team at Gerrell & Hard team has adapted and diversified with our markets.

Though well established and enormously successful in its field, P2i is still a burgeoning company with an exciting future that makes it one to watch. With so many potential applications for its nanotechnology, I’m sure there’s plenty more to come for this amazing business.
