G&H Blog Challenge Possible Electric Vehicle Innovator

Challenge the possible: announcing superb opportunities leading next-gen electric vehicle tech for a global innovator.

G&H Blog Challenge Possible Electric Vehicle Innovator2
A major global innovator in the Electric Vehicle space has a large number of vacancies for elite engineers. Successful applicants will join a Technology Research Division in Wiltshire, where they will work on next-generation EV technology and applications.

Gerrell & Hard is managing vacancies for Engineers, Senior Engineers and Lead Engineers, in Mechanical Engineering and Power Electronics Engineering/Battery Management Systems.

Our client is an exciting brand and a renowned market disruptor that offers a challenge and opportunity rarely found in the EV space. Its approach to innovation is to rip up the rulebook and start again, redefining established technologies in order to build products that become best in class and set a new precedent for quality, desirability and scope. The engineers hired for these roles will have the opportunity to do just that.

Across industry, the first phase of EV development has been characterised by brands taking existing vehicle concepts and electrifying them. Established manufacturers have had to live with this if they want to compete. But even while participating in this competition, this brand is looking beyond it, too. It is seeking engineers who will help it to envision and build future generations of electric vehicles, not just the next model; to re-write the playbook, encourage and reward challenger-thinking and see where it takes them.

This is an opportunity that comes along rarely: a chance to work on future-generation EV technology that will disrupt markets and change how society thinks about and uses electric vehicles.

The brand’s technical research team has the skills, intellect, resources and ambition to completely reimagine the future of EV, applying its typically “clean-sheet” thinking to technological development and presenting totally new concepts to the market.

For some of these roles you’ll need to be aware of legacy and existing technology but only so that you can help to get past it. You’ll be more concerned with how to deliver the next several generations of Electric Vehicles. What will it take to get to a range of 500 miles? What about 1,000?

Power Electronics Engineering/Battery Management systems: overview

Candidates will need to have learned the lessons, challenges and limits of automotive technology and will therefore need a previous automotive role. But they will have sought to push against those limits and will welcome the opportunity to work in an environment that seeks to remove them altogether.

Some of the battery management roles will need experience of delivering electric vehicles. You’ll need to understand the challenges of existing iterations of hardware and software – but you’ll also want to play a part in creating the next generation technology where the current rules and limits don’t apply. You won’t accept that the status quo is the way Electric Vehicles have to be: instead, you’ll welcome the opportunity to shape the future of battery management.

You’ll be excited at the chance to present new ideas and experiment with feasibility in a visionary technical research team where nothing is taken as standard. You’ll have a voice and you’ll want to play a part in advancing technology. Your creativity will have free rein.
