At the forefront of subsea innovation for the last 40 years, this company is an independent manufacturing business, employing almost 300 employees worldwide. The company offers interesting engineering challenges that require complex solutions and as such staff turnover is low due to the nature of the work and the way people are treated.
In this newly created position you’ll be reporting to the Manufacturing Director and be responsible for a team of 10. You will have leadership of the Warehouse Team in the management of Inventory - Raw materials; Finished Goods including Despatch. This will involve management of the Warehouse Team; working with other teams such as Customer Service, Planning, Purchasing, Shop Floor, Finance and carrying out Warehousing Tasks where necessary.
One of the first projects will be to move from the current Counterbalance Racking system to a Carousel/Narrow Aisle solution. Included in this will be an analysis where best to position Raw Materials and Finished Goods to minimise the Waste of Transportation and Movement.
This will also involve stock tracking and error elimination through update of Process/Procedures; Competency Matrix and potentially barcoding/RFID tagging/camera system. Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) Project in preparing for application. Implementation and development of Visual Management Tools to measure Safety; Quality; Delivery and Improvements
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
• Green Belt Six Sigma (desirable)
• IOSH for Managers (minimum)
• Experience as working as a Team Leader in a Factory Warehouse Environment
• Use of ERP System (ideally Syspro) in a Factory Warehouse environment
• Competent Excel ability (e.g. formulas; macros; Pivot Tables; VLOOKUP) in order to manage data
