Vehicle Communications Network Engineer 


Job Summary
The candidate will be technical lead for the maintenance and development of the vehicle communication networks (Ethernet/CAN/CAN-FD/LIN) on vehicles. 

The Role:  
•Work with different teams across the business to understand their vehicle networking needs, for example to create serial data interfaces for new features
•Responsible for the design and implementation of communication message changes
•To create and maintain the networking specification outlining the business requirements and best practices for the implementation in electrical and electronics units
•Responsible for developing and maintaining a robust signal database change management process
•Support and management during the content definition phase to ensure requirements and guidelines are being met
•Work with different engineering teams and suppliers on interface development
•Develop network design verification plans at both ECU and vehicle level

The Person: 

•Demonstrated technical knowledge, experience, and ability in automotive networking technologies (CAN, LIN, Ethernet etc)
•Experience or knowledge of related technologies (e.g. AUTOSAR, serial data analysis, calibration processes, programming tools, etc)
•Experience in Vector Elektra and Capital Networks would be considered an asset
•Experience or knowledge of relevant tools (e.g. PREEvision, CANoe, CANalyzer, Vehicle Spy, Doors, Rhapsody, IBM Synergy, IBM Rational Team Concert, etc)
•Experience or background in the development of vehicle electronic and software architectures
•Experience of engineering and business release processes within the automotive sector
•Excellent communication and co-ordination skills - at ease coordinating a team of engineers and suppliers 
•Flexible, enthusiastic, and methodical individual who is self-motivated, able to work well under own initiative and remain focused under pressure
•Electrical, Electronic Systems, Electro-mechanical, Automotive, or similar honours engineering degree. Other recognized engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience may be considered
•No visa or other restrictions for working in the UK or travelling in the European Union
•Travel as required 
•Full driving licence preferred
