Our innovative design and manufacturing client based on the South Coast between Southampton and Portsmouth situated in Fareham are seeking a new Supply Chain Manager on a permanent basis.
Job Purpose:
Overall responsibility for supply chain strategy and the management and delivery of strategic purchasing activities.
Job Specific accountabilities and responsibilities:
? To establish and develop relationships and contracts with key suppliers to ensure the company’s business plan is met.
? To actively manage supply chain performance and risk.
? To continuously work with existing and new suppliers to meet company objectives including improvements to: - cash flow, lead times, obsolescence management and warranty terms, whilst achieving cost reduction and quality targets.
? To negotiate and maintain purchase contracts with suppliers and to ensure contract terms are appropriately communicated within our organisation.
? To actively manage the RFQ process, specifications and documentation for new product development.
? To ensure all supply chain audits and obsolescence processes are developed and followed.
? To support the supplier selection and management of subcontract engineering development work packages.
? To work with a plan, do, check, act methodology to deliver continuous improvement.
? To develop and present supply chain KPIs to demonstrate performance and continuous improvement.
? To ensure that the companies supply chain activities are always and without exception in line with our code of conduct.
? Manage/develop a small team of Strategic Buyers.
General accountabilities and responsibilities:
? To use personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in day to day activities and procedures within the specified role.
? To maintain personal ability in, and appropriate use of, all relevant IT (Information and Technology) and other systems required to adequately perform the role.

Person Specification:
? Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field
? Extensive experience in a strategic supply chain role, preferably with a substantial amount of time within the oil and gas sector
? Ability to manage logistics of all aspects of supply chain, from product development to the shipment of finished items
? Understanding of accounting principals
? Must be able to comprehend legal documents.
? Strong communication skills and the desire to build lasting relationships
? Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company success
? Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
? Team player
? Good time-management skills
? Great interpersonal and communication skills ? Ability to lead, train and mentor employees on a personal level
