Key Objectives & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Principal Engineer Validation you will lead the implementation of a new validation facility.
You will identify and implement any new equipment needed to perform validation or improve facilities; ensuring accuracy, repeatability and industry standards are always met. This will include fixturing design, creation of device specifications and innovative test methodologies.
You will be responsible for following validation plans and executing tests, gathering data and reporting on results to internal and external customers.
•Preparation of automated test rigs and equipment including pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, script based and servo electric systems.
•Organising and undertaking both internal and external tests.
•Producing engineering reports for the validation of systems and components as per project requirements.
•Specification of mechanical fixturing and test measurement equipment.
•Setup of data acquisition systems and provide support cross functionally.
•Collaborate with Test Technicians.
•Post-processing and analysis of data.
•Support the writing of specifications and carrying out the validation against required specifications.
•Promoting repeatability and robustness of validation processes with a focus on safety.
•Liaising with external test houses to assist with the delivery of validation work, including reporting and maintaining to agreed schedules.
•Maintaining equipment, advising and implementing improvements as required, including HS&E activities relating to facilities.
•Ensuring a safe working environment by following, supporting and maintaining working practices.
•Issue management support using company issue management system.
•You will ideally have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant area with at least 3 years of industry experience
•Proven, hands-on experience in a test, design or development environment for electromechanical systems including pneumatics, hydraulics and servo electric.
•Ability to apply fundamental engineering principles to the analysis and interpretation of test results, as well as to the specification of mechanical and electrical assemblies to support in-house validation.
•Strong analytical and judgment skills including the ability to troubleshoot and advise on solutions in the area of validation.
•Ability to take a hands-on approach in test setup and instrumentation/data acquisition
•A creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to practically resolve issues and innovate where required
•Good initiative, with the ability to manage own time and priorities
•A flexible approach to work, with a desire to thrive in a dynamic and fast-moving environment
•Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), good collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively across teams within the organisation.
•Proficiency in a CAD package CATIA preferred
•Willingness to travel as required.
