Senior Engineer - Brakes 
Midlands

The Role
• Support the design, development & delivery of the Brakes System within the Chassis
Systems Function Group
• Take the lead in all aspects of programme delivery & planning including system
design, target setting, specification, DFMEA, development, verification & launch for a
group of commodities, e.g. foundation brakes, pedals, booster system
• Deliver system designs to meet the requirements of technical specifications in
accordance with design guidelines and standards
• Plan design activities in order to fulfil the requirements of the company’s engineering
timing release system, considering timing dependencies with other systems where
necessary
• Develop concepts and mature final system designs to weight, cost and serviceability
targets with confirmation through analysis
• The role will require some aspect of travel, mainly within Europe, although this is not a
on a regular basis

The Person
• Experience in a similar role at a senior level preferred
• Demonstrable experience in a CATIA V5 & Teamcenter environment
• In-depth knowledge of all elements of brake systems including legislative
requirements
• Experience working in/for medium volume vehicle projects would be advantageous
• Excellent communication and co-ordination skills - at ease working with a crossfunctional team of engineers and suppliers with the ability to clearly and concisely 
convey information relating to brakes systems
• Meticulous attention to detail is essential for all aspects of the role
• Flexible, enthusiastic individual who is self-motivated, able to work well under own
initiative, set their own tasks and remain focused under pressure
• Willing and able to coach more junior members of the team
• Possession of an Engineering Degree or similar. Other recognised engineering
qualifications combined with relevant experience may be considered
