Part of the Engineering team, the Senior Electrical Distribution System (EDS) Engineer will be responsible for the design, development and delivery of EDS components, typically harnesses, for both vehicle systems and test rig hardware.
Within this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of EDS subsystem / harness design including generating requirements, completing electrical schematics and manufacturing drawings, supporting design verification and validation, building and managing BOMs and supporting product build. You will work closely with the other functions within the design team and with the manufacturing team throughout the project lifecycle.
Alongside this, you will support the development and roll out o and supporting tools associated with you support business growth.
In this role, you will actively strive to deliver on time, to the right quality and within budget. You will support design review, team, supplier and customer meetings as required and seek to resolve any issue assigned to you in a timely manner.
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
Educated to degree level in electrical engineering or other relevant discipline 5+ years ‘experience in relevant role and industry
•Experience in wiring harness and busbar system design
•Competent in generating electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
•Experienced user of electrical drawing software such as VeSys, Zuken E3, Cadonix, Elecworks, Harnware or similar
•Knowledge of and experience of working to automotive engineering standards and processes
•Experience of designing both HV and LV systems for static enclosure based, and automotive applications including component specification and selection
•Working knowledge of motorsport standards and processes
•Experience of EDS component sourcing and a strong supplier database
•Hands on experience of wiring harness manufacture
•Self-motivated & proactive
