Senior Design Engineer - Chassis (Motorsport)

Our Automotive Engineering client is seeking a Senior Design Engineer within Chassis or Powertrain Systems from a Motorsport background.
Role Purpose:
Senior Design Engineer is needed to take ownership of key project deliverables and lead small sub-project design teams for our motorsport clients.
Operational Duties:
As a member of the design group your duties will include:
• Component design using 3D CAD software
• Completion, review and release of engineering documents such as drawings, reports, work instructions and guides
• Design & development of rig and test equipment
• Assist with fault resolution and drive continuous improvement activities within the department
• Management of customer build specifications and CAD assembly structures
• Engage and interact efficiently across all levels within technical departments
In addition, as a project design team leader your duties may also include:
• Conducting design evaluation & reviews
• Drawing sign-off
• Workload allocation
• Mentoring junior engineers
• Customer liaison & data transfer to customers
• Event support
Experience and Qualifications:
• A minimum of 5 years design experience in motorsport
• The above experience would ideally be in a mechanical design environment, preferably with significant exposure to electric vehicle powertrain components or systems
• Proficient CAD user (Siemens NX or Catia V5 experience preferred)
• Previous experience of Teamcenter is an advantage
• Excellent communications skills essential
• Ability to travel outside the UK
