Job Description

The Role

As a senior buyer, you will work in close collaboration with R&D and the global purchasing team.  As member of that team, you will plan and implement the sourcing activities for early engineering developments and new vehicle projects, maintaining frequent supplier contacts on a daily basis and consolidating a strategic global purchasing strategy. 
This role will report directly to Senior Purchasing Manager 

Main responsibilities
•Lead delivery of all Function group sourcing, in collaboration with wider Group purchasing organisation, to support the program delivery on time and to budget.
•Collaborate with R&D for projects for specific areas and act as main contact for all commercial issues towards suppliers
•Work in partnership with the wider purchasing and R&D team to develop the supplier base to meet cost, quality and on time delivery requirements as well as developing new suppliers as appropriate to meet these objectives
•Define short & long term sourcing strategies, and align with the business objectives
•Leverage the companies corporate agreements and resources to drive cost improvements in direct material spend.
•Participating as a key player in programme management activities and driving function group timing to support purchasing capacity and planning.
•Identify and lead the team cost reduction opportunities and lead the team to deliver cost reduction year on year, in line with business objectives.
•Support in creating, developing, and implementing appropriate purchasing procedures based on your past experience
•Ensure compliance to group standards, policies and practices and where appropriate create new procedures to improve purchasing operations.
•Drives supplier consolidation and rationalization where appropriate
•Provide regular feedback to staff, peers and management
•Track key performance indicators on supplier and stakeholder contract compliance; define and take corrective actions to improve contracts compliance and continuously track supplier performance on quality and cost.

•5 years+ purchasing experience from the automotive industry
•BSc in Economics or Technical discipline from a university degree or equivalent institution.
•Proven experience in both direct material and indirect material( Professional Service)
•Excellent knowledge of MS Office packages;
•Good understanding about cost structure, with fact based negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills  
•Strong communication skills and fluent in English. 
•Good interpersonal skills, pleasant personality, cross culture understanding, organizing and coordinating ability.
•Smart and nimble mind-set, with efficient working performance under complicated global environment
