This opportunity would suit a Sales & Commercial Manager who is keen to work in an SME environment, yet receive the backing of a global corporate. The company is a world leader in design & manufacture of electronics products, servicing the aerospace, defence and industrial markets.
We are now looking for a Sales & Commercial Manager who can work hand in hand with the MD and be part of the senior leadership team. You’ll primarily be responsible for taking the lead with existing customers, working in very much an Account Director type role & be responsible for the commercial relationships required to maintain and grow the companies market position. You’ll manage a small team of inside sales professionals & be responsible for developing and implementing sales and growth strategies.
Specifically this will include things like:
• Management of personnel and ownership of processes associated with sales including; RFQ, pricing, order entry, bid management, contract review, customer reporting, process adherence and measurement
• Building strong relationships with customer contacts
• Hosting customer meetings and proactively visiting key customers
• Acting as key customer interface
• Negotiation of customer contracts to ensure best commercial position
• Understanding and communication of customer contracts
• Management of key commercial metrics
• Responsible for ensuring compliance to import and export regulations and controls
• Responsible for coordinating sales activities with EMEA sales staff and the US Business development manager
• Ensuring appropriate marketing of products and services and working with a US marketing team and EMEA sales team in preparations for industrial trade shows
• Working to continually improve processes to increase productivity and improve customer satisfaction
• Support in negotiations and drafting of non-customer contracts
To apply for this position you should be able to demonstrate the following:
• Experience of review and negotiation of Aerospace customer contracts
• Experience of selling/customer account management
• Analytical skills to bring together reporting on sales and commercial data
• Leadership/Management of sales team and proven record in developing a team
• Ideally Degree qualified in technical discipline
• Ability to manage a high and varied workload, with dynamism, nimbleness and efficiency
• Ability to build collaborative working relationships with the business
• Ability to motivate self plus others to continuously improve the status quo, and overcome barriers
• Ability to work under light supervision and be able communicate effectively up & down
Desirable
• Contract drafting experience
• Marketing experience
• Management of trade compliance
• Electronics manufacturing business experience
• Experience with CRM & ERP Systems
This position would suit a Sales or Commercial professional who has come from a technical environment and moved into a commercial role. You may have worked in bids, tenders, proposals, sales management or as a contract manager and are now looking for more responsibility as well as line management exposure.
