Job Description

I am currently supporting a growing technology business with the recruitment of an R&D Technician. This company are well funded and have found great success already with the development of a specialist Nano coating, which is predominantly applied to Electronics products.

As an R&D Technician, you will provide technical support to development projects as required, particularly around machine development, sample preparation, processing operation and analysis. This role would suit applicants who have a Degree in Physics and/or Material Science, and perhaps also have some practical skills such as Mechanical or electrical workshop experience.

Main Responsibilities
To assist with development projects as required
To conduct scientific experiments and perform tests in the laboratory.
To monitor, record and report work through lab notebooks on a continuous basis as well as via written reports and verbal communication/ presentations.
To ensure work progresses according to plan and inform supervisor if problems arise
To maintain a clean, safe and efficient working environment in the laboratory
To participate in team discussions

Skills & Experience

Knowledge of physics, and/or material science.
Ability to work as part of project team
Ability to work under pressure to achieve goals to agreed timing.

Desirable

Experience in product or process development 
Practical ability to make and/or modify mechanical components
Mechanical and/or electrical workshop experience
