Job Description

Working as part of the production planning department you’ll be coordinating and reporting on the production fulfilment process and material schedule to meet the Sales & Production Plan schedule.

The company offers interesting engineering challenges that require complex solutions and as such staff turnover is low due to the nature of the work and the way people are treated.

It’s a busy environment.

You’ll be a key contact for the manufacturing ERP system, interrogating the MRP system and creating spreadsheets to show part availability for all Sales Orders received. A keen eye & analytical approach is needed as you monitor shortage report on all Hire, Capex and ENG Sales Demand products, creating a spreadsheet closer to product required by date and highlighting potential supply issues to PPM.

In addition you will maintain forecasts for warehouse specific consignment stock, investigate material constraints, monitor worldwide stock holding, as well as routinely review the Machine Shop capacity & working with ECR’s.

We’re looking for an experienced production planner who has proven experience of production planning/scheduling in a Manufacturing/Engineering environment. Strong knowledge and practical experience in MRP systems (ideally SYSPRO or SAP, Oracle etc). A sound understanding and knowledge of mechanical/electrical stock items and good IT skills including Microsoft Outlook and Excel.

This position would suit a planner or scheduler who enjoys working in a modern engineering and manufacturing environment and used to dealing with production shortages, delays, arranging corrective actions & mapping processes. You’ll be adaptable, able to work under pressure & be persuasive.  A background using metrics and KPI’s would be of interest as well as the ability to drive change and make improvements to the process.
