Production Manager - Composites

Our Engineering Consultancy that specialises in the automotive, rail and aerospace industries is seeking a new Production Manager with a strong Composites Manufacturing background.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
? Drive and maintain a zero incident safety culture in the Composites associated production areas
? Represent Composites production department in cross-departmental planning initiatives
? Ensure product quality specifications are met via control plans (Process flow, PFMEA, Control Plans, Process control sheets)
? Drive continuous improvement efforts throughout the organization (Lean, 5s, 8D etc)
? IATF16949 compliance assurance
? Develop, implement and maintain an appropriate training and skills strategy for all production personnel to ensure quality and manufacturing requirements and standards are consistently met
? Assume total responsibility for the overall management and development of the production manufacturing facility and all associated operations within.
? Develop and manage production operations budgets to meet company and department objectives
? Suggest new handling and manufacturing methods to achieve maximum productivity
? Interface with all levels of the organization to communicate actions plans for operation improvements
? Lead and direct production teams to achieve manufacturing throughput and quality goals
? Ensure code of conduct and policies and embraced and followed
? Foster a climate of positive employee relations through engagement, communication, positive feedback and inclusion in the development and success of the organisation. Encourage an open factory culture, whereby individuals feel able to challenge the ‘status quo’ and are encouraged to share ideas from all levels
HEADLINE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL:
Relevant experience within a fast paced automotive (or similar) low to medium volume production environment at management level.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Have significant production planning and problem solving experience
Keen awareness and attention to serving customers, both internal and external
Background that supports ability to generate, read and comprehend management reports, evaluate process flow and implement change when and where necessary
Demonstrate the ability to grow and develop teams and individuals
A logical and methodical approach to any task or business requirement
DESIRABLE:
Carbon fibre product manufacturing experience
Process design and development experience
