Our client is a manufacturer of commercial and emergency vehicle warning and safety products. They are seeking an experienced Senior Production Engineer with circa 5 years Manufacturing / production experience within a fast paced manufacturing environment.
They require someone with proven ability / examples and case studies of where you have made improvements, cost savings, implemented lean manufacturing initiatives including value stream mapping.
This is a standalone production engineer role, working closely with engineers and production teams as well as leading a Work Study Engineer.
You will be responsible for implementing Value Stream Mapping and therefore, will require experience of improving layouts, mythology, six sigma, kaizen and capital expenditure.
Job Summary
This role will see you working as part of the Production team alongside in-house engineers The role requires a hands-on individual with a proven track record of leading a quality focused production facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing processes and procedures to drive time, efficiency and quality improvements in the Company’s manufacturing capability.
You will be confident in your area of expertise and working both as part of a team or independently. You’ll have a meticulous eye for detail and good breadth of knowledge of materials and processes to ensure components are produced right first time and live up to the companies reputation for quality.
Main Duties / Responsibilities
?Identify and implement productivity improvement ideas defined by continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing methodology and problem-solving initiatives submitting capital expenditure for approval.
?Collaborate with manufacturing Engineering and Time Study Engineering to create cost effective production process and procedures.
?Identify and evaluate Production appropriate issues that are affecting the business and liaise with Manufacturing Engineering to offer specific improvements
?Design, document, and implement appropriate production jigs, fixtures and processes.
?Write and audit equipment maintenance procedures.
?Utilize statistical process control to monitor Production processes.
?Perform other duties as assigned or needed to support the businesses Mission Statement and Company Goals.
Essential requirements
?Degree in electrical / electronic or mechanical qualification or relevant experience
?Working knowledge of production processes and materials
?Experience of Kaizen continuous improvement and lean production techniques
?Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
?Experience working with ISO quality systems and methodologies
?Work measurement or Time study experience desirable
