Job Description
Global tech business is seeking a proven Principal Electrical System Simulation Engineer to join the Tech Research division leading the development of Next Gen EV Powertrain technology.
You will join a growing team of multi-disciplined engineers to develop a next-generation powertrain for an EV. The role will focus on leading the electrical and electric system simulation model for EV powertrain.
Role responsibilities:
- Develop simulation model for powertrain system including key electrical and electric components such as battery, fuse, contact, DC-DC converter, pump, inverter, gearbox and electrical motor, etc.
- Simulate the powertrain system performance and its impact on vehicle performance Provide technical input to define powertrain architecture by simulating vehicle performance such as drive range, acceleration and top speed, etc. vs. powertrain mass, cost, size and life
- Provide technical input to define requirements and specifications for electrical and electric components within powertrain system
- Develop high performance E-motor control algorithm for EV powertrain
- Work with software engineer to develop platform for auto-code generation for E-motor control software
- Work with rest of powertrain team to develop SiL and HiL testing platform for powertrain performance validation and software verification
- Work with EDU team, HV team and battery team to deliver the most efficient, cost effective powertrain system to meet EV requirements
