NPI Knowledge and Training Lead
Southampton, Hampshire
Permanent - Salary 40-45k
 
Our optical manufacturing client based in Southampton is seeking an NPI Knowledge And Training Lead to work as part of the NPI (new product introduction) team but look at the new product through a service lens; always thinking “ now how would we fix that?” or “how would the customer be able to lift that into position”. 
 
Job Purpose:
Ensures the global Service team has access to the latest information and training to enable them to provide excellent service.  Works with the NPI team and other colleagues to deliver the service aspects of NPI projects and engineering changes.  Delivers training to trainers, service engineers and customers 
 
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Manages the service activities of NPI projects as a member of the NPI project team to ensure products meet the service requirements 
Ensures that manuals, training materials, tooling and spares parts are available to support product launch
Ensure the Service team is represented in all Engineering Changes and manages the service aspects of those changes
Develops, reviews and updates  service manuals and procedures for use by service engineers and trained customers
Owns and ensures the quality of the Service knowledge data base 
Develops training materials 
Delivers training to trainers, service engineers and customers
 
Required Experience:
Essential:
Project management
Technical authorship
Development of training materials
Faultfinding and repair of high technology capital equipment
Working in cross functional teams
Delivery of training
 
Preferable: 
Faultfinding and repair of fibre lasers or fibreoptic systems
Second major language
 
Qualifications:
Degree or HND in Electronic Engineering, Physics or related subject
 
Personal Profile:
Good organisational and planning skills
Strong team working and influencing skills  
Excellent presentational  style                                                                                  
Ability to work across multiple tasks methodically and efficiently and meet committed timescales
Happy to work in a dynamic environment and adaptable to changes in priorities
Hands-on with creative approach to problem solving
