You will be the only Mechanical Design Engineer within the team and will be therefore, responsible for all the mechanical design of their plastic products taking the design from a concept sketch to a fully considered proposal.
Job Summary
This role will see you working as part of an exciting creative product development team alongside in-house designers and electrical engineers, to design and manufacture electronic products for the automotive market.
This is a key role for the department, so you will need to be organised, structured, and comfortable presenting your work to all the stakeholders within the business. You must be able to work to project timescales and produce drawings and data in line with our Product Data Management processes. You’ll have a positive outlook with a can-do attitude, someone that enjoys a challenge!
You will be confident in your area of expertise and working both as part of a team or independently. You’ll have a meticulous eye for detail and good breadth of knowledge of materials and processes to ensure components are produced right first time and live up to our reputation for quality.
Main Duties / Responsibilities

? Resolve product non-conformance issues.
? Ensure designs are compliant with the UK, European and other relevant standards.
? Provide support for other departments relating to product integration and quality.
? Ability to create and maintain supporting development paperwork – including DFMEA, DFM, and use FEA tools to validate designs.
Essential requirements
