Mechanical Design Engineer
London (Hybrid Working)
Perm - £41 - £48,000 + Benefits
Main Purpose:
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be developing robotic food dispensing systems and supporting infrastructure of innovation and excellence, from concept through to manufacture and
implementation. This will include mechanisms for dispensing various food types and systems for human and robotic interaction.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Performing a full lifecycle product development (design, develop, test, prototypes, manufacture and implement)
Conceptual development interfacing robotics, food dispense technology and feedback systems
Identify, formulate and produce effective solutions to emerging problems
Designing oversight of hygiene, usability and operational safety
Testing, evaluating and validating suitability (overall performance, reliability and safety) of proposals through simulated and physical trialing
Interacting cross-functionally with teams working on software stack, embedded electronics and robotics

Proven work experience in mechanical engineering
Strong foundation of relevant industry experience developing production-ready systems
Demonstrable experience in modelling, assembly development, simulation and engineering drawing
Previous experience in manufacturing processes including CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication and rapid prototyping
Evidence of effectively working as part of a team
Bachelor’s degree in a technical area (or demonstratable work experience providing equivalent depth and breadth of knowledge and competency).
Degree in mechanical engineering or similar (e.g. Product Design Engineering, industrial design or automotive engineering)
