This is a really nice opportunity for a Graduate Design Engineer who is interested in developing bespoke automated robotic solutions for automotive customers. The company operate in a project driven environment and the work is varied and technically challenging.
The company employs about 25 engineers and whilst it is professional, it is a nice open and friendly environment.
You’ll be part of a mechanical design team and heavily involved in all aspects of mechanical engineering right throughout the project cycle, from conception to installation. This will enable you to ensure that your concept designs are converted to automation solutions.
This position would appeal to a Mechanical Design Engineer who feels limited in their current role and wants to metaphorically stretch their legs. Your day to day duties will include conceptual design of Robotic Automation Equipment as well as Fixturing using 3D Modelling.
What’s nice is that you will be able liaise with the customer and be involved in design review meetings to get a real feel for what is required. As well as this you will work with sub-contractors for the fabrication and machining of those designs as well as be able to select the materials needed.
The client is keen to find someone who has knowledge of robot jig & fixture design. Any experience of special purpose machinery, material handling or automated welding would be particularly advantageous.
3D CAD experience is essential, and the client’s preference is for someone to already be using AutoCAD Inventor. A good appreciation of electrical control systems would also be a distinct advantage.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer, with an interest in automated machinery design, looking for a challenging design role within a fast paced project environment. This position is based near Southampton, Hampshire with some visits to customer sites throughout the UK.
